November 4, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week we finished up our descriptive writing about pumpkins. We are excited to put them up on our bulletin boards in the hall along with the art that we have been working on. Have your child locate the "juicy", or descriptive words in each of the following:

Below are a few examples of the pumpkin art we are working towards completing.  In both projects, we focused on perspective and how lines can create different effects. Here are some examples of each:

We also began our newest wall story this week based on Eric Carle's book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".  Ask your child to point out the descriptive language in each of the examples below.

We have been working hard over the course of the year to stretch out our words so we can hear all of the sounds. We started by focusing on beginning and ending sounds, and are now trying to fill in the medial letters.

In social studies, we discussed the word "belong" and learned about different groups people can belong to. Ask your child to tell you at least 3 groups they belong to!

Reminder:

- School Photos came home this week. The deadline to order photos is November 18th.
