Dear Parents and Guardians,
The students in Mrs. Witczak's
classroom had a substitute this morning because Mrs. Witczak was at a Learning
Leader meeting.
At
the start of the day, the students worked with a partner to further their oral
language skills by sharing their favourite experience from the weekend. They
then completed a journal entry and illustrated a picture that matched what they
had shared with their partner.
In math, we continued to practice creating and naming AB and
ABB patterns. Have your child use actions to demonstrate each type of pattern
for you.
This afternoon, we read a book about bullying and discussed
what to do if you are being bullied or if you see someone else being bullied.
We also discussed how to treat everyone with kindness. Please take the time
tonight or over the next few days to discuss the emotions associated with
bullying with your child.
Science was very exciting for us today! We were able to
participate in a fun science experiment. Mr. Dyck even came to watch!!
We used vinegar, baking soda and food colouring
to mix colours today. Ask your child what colours they saw being created from
the "foam."
At the end of the day, the students worked on spelling
our colour words and practiced stating
the order of the rainbow. Ask your child to show you the "primary"
and "secondary" pattern we found in the rainbow.
😀
